Amy has Graduated!!

On Thursday our relatives, Uncle David, Auntie Charlotte, and cousin Jason, came out. They spent the night, because they were staying with us.
Jason slept in mine and Clara's room, and Clara and I slept in Amy and Melissa's room with them. It was fun to have 4 girls in one room.
On Friday morning we went to the church where the graduation was going to be and set up Amy’s table, with pictures and scrapbooks and things like that.
We went to GFA too. Our relatives got a tour of the office, and we ate lunch there. After that we helped set up things for the GFA picnic.
Some people dressed up as superheroes for the picnic, but some people didn’t. Clara was Magma Girl.

They had a water slide and a bounce house set up. Lots of people also played Capture the Flag with water balloons.
There was also lots of food. We took onions, fruit salad, and lemon bars. The lemon bars were put in one of the refrigerators at GFA under a container of salad so they were never taken out. We wondered what had happened to them until Dad found them on Monday. We were all happy to have them back and we shared them at a Memorial Day party.

After we ate dinner, some of us went on the water slide a few more times and then we went home to get ready so we could go to the church.

Melissa, Clara, and I, with other underclassmen, were in the candlelight processional. We walked in at the beginning and lined the center aisle, and then the graduates walked in.
The pastor of the church the ceremony was at was the one who spoke. It was a good message, and was about the DNA of leadership. Slideshows of pictures of the seniors played. Near the end of the slideshow Dad came up and gave Amy her diploma and Mom turned the tassel on Amy’s cap.

Graduated!

Lots of people we know were able to come to her graduation and stay for the reception afterwards, and that was really special.
At the reception there was food and each senior had a table that they displayed pictures and things on.
It seems so weird that Amy has finished high school.

On Saturday we slept in, which was very nice, and then our relatives drove to Fort Worth to visit some of their other relatives.

On Sunday we went to the church of some of our friends in Fort Worth. Afterwards was the churches spring picnic, and we stayed for that. It was nice to visit with them, and we also met several nice families. We especially enjoyed the tamales they had.

On Saturday, besides being lazy, we actually got some things done. Dad replaced the toilet in the master bathroom. He was going to put on a new wax seal, but when he got it up, there was a crack on the back, so he decided to replace it completely.

We have been getting the house ready to have a graduation party for Amy tomorrow night. It will be after dinner and we'll have desserts and things like that. I'll be making more lemon bars.
